For this image, I removed the bottom of a flower pot and smeared glue on the inside walls, with fine earth stuck to the glue. The pot was suspended using David's work bench and several clamps. My camera – fitted with a 14mm wide angle lens, was on a tripod underneath the pot, pointing straight up. The LSH (long suffering husband) was holding a small tree (weed) we dug up already from the garden.
Using the Camera Connect app on my phone, I was able to change the settings, adjust the focus and check the results without having to demount the set up.
